With news of the latest terrorist attacks against the Western world that involved extremists driving a van into pedestrians on the London Bridge and attacking people with knives, the civilized world is becoming increasingly fed up with politically correct attitudes that tolerate these attacks. British Prime Minister was especially caustic toward those who want to take tolerance and inclusiveness to extremes: “While we have made significant progress in recent years, there is – to be frank – far too much tolerance of extremism in this country.”

Mike Huckabee echoed the sentiment while referring to the problem of immigrants and refugees who might come into the United States and then refuse to accept that most Americans may hold opinions and follow belief systems that are different from theirs. On Sunday morning, he told Fox News: “America’s a melting pot. That’s what we’ve always been. But we’ve got people who come and they’re not willing to melt. They don’t want to become part of us. They want us to change into them.”
While it may be that followers of Islam who immigrate from their native countries to Europe or the United States suffer from culture shock and are offended by our more tolerant society, that should be no excuse for terrorist activities or even so much as harassing women for wearing clothing that they consider scandalous. Muslims that immigrate should understand that they are here with our permission and should respect the values and belief systems of their hosts. It isn’t intolerance to insist that Muslims respect the rest of us. This is simply a recognition that tolerance and respect for other belief systems should go both ways.
Like Theresa May, President Trump understands this and is willing to do what it takes to battle Islamic radicals who refuse to tolerate the existence of other belief systems. “Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U.K., we will be there – we are with you. God bless!” Trump said in a tweet as part of his reply to the terror attack in London.

Of course, the fact that innocent people die in terrorist attacks carried out by Islamic radicals is something that hardcore politically correct liberals either refuse to comprehend or refuse to publicly acknowledge because it does not fit their narrative that non-Muslims need to respect Muslim beliefs but Muslims do not need to respect the rest of the world. Fox & Friends blasted a CNN host for calling Trump “a piece of shit” for Trump’s response to the London attack even though Trump was perfectly in the right to express support for the U.K.
President Trump may have sparked the CNN host’s nasty and unwarranted response by tweeting, “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!”

This is why the Democrat Party is losing support. It refuses to keep in touch with ordinary people who live in the real world where they want to be able to earn an honest living, provide for their families, and make sure they and their loved ones can sleep in peace at night without worrying about being killed by Islamic radicals or anyone else who would rather go on a deadly rampage than tolerate other belief systems. Most Americans believe that the government can and should protect national security by being tough on threats originating both within and without our borders. When voters see that Democrats are putting their own ideology above the average American’s best interests, they will vote for Republicans or not vote at all.
The same goes for Europe’s security needs. The U.K.’s planned departure from the European Union was partially sparked by concern that the EU wasn’t answering British concerns that included worries that the Syrian refugee crisis might be used as a cover for radical Islamic groups. Many liberal European leaders appear intent on ignoring the problem even as refugees who are already in Europe harass local women who do not dress according to the refugees’ modesty standards and refuse to respect the societal standards of their hosts. These are people who do not respect the Western world and may outright hate us enough to attack in any way they can. That means the Western world needs leaders who are willing to stand up to them when they go too far instead of catering to them even as they kill innocent civilians.
